ASDA - comment

Although ASDA’s pay rise is lower than its competitors’, we do not expect it to provoke staff departures or industrial action. 

ASDA staff pay will rise 4%, which lags the 5%+ from most of its competitors; the exception being Morrisons (<4%). ASDA is hamstrung by the costs of its attempts to reposition itself as the low-cost option among the 4 major grocers. ASDA publishes its FY25 results tomorrow.
