ASDA/Ocado - comment

The partnership is a small positive for both companies' bonds. ASDA is adopting a lighter version of the Ocado proposition, broadly similar to what Walmart do in the US. ASDA will use in-store fulfilment, with Ocado providing the infrastructure behind the App, order management and delivery logistics. ASDA is currently constrained by the costs of its turnaround programme, and starting with in-store fulfilment rather than using a CFC is a cheaper option for upgrading its online presence.
