The Very Group - comment

As anticipated, Carlyle’s £280 million loan to VGL Midco, a holding company outside The Very Group’s restricted group, was not refinanced, and instead Carlyle has become the new controlling shareholder of The Very Group. Having been invested in The Very Group since 2021 in collaboration with IMI, Carlyle will continue to drive the business forward, whereas the transaction marks the conclusion of the Barclay family’s involvement.
